Creating equal access to knowledge and education

Picture a child with abundant curiosity and wonder. A twinkle in their eyes. Now picture that child confined to the limitations of the place where they were born.

The Digital Divide

In Haiti, the lack of access to technology hinders educational opportunities and stifles community development. Like other developing countries, Haiti faces what is known as a Digital Divide.

Without access to modern information and technology, they are disconnected from the tools and resources that they need to access educational opportunities and to connect with the broader global community. This lack of access means that they have very little exposure to what might be available to them and no way to even conceive of the possibilities for their future.

Haiti is a country with youth who are willing to shape their own future by improving their circumstances. HHH is there to provide them with the tools to take charge of their own future.

When Haitian children get the chance to explore a world beyond their borders, it’s like giving them more colours and a bigger canvas for their dreams.

The Moment it Changed

When the Mount Hamilton Youth Soccer Club and Progressive Sports Medicine generously donated soccer balls and uniforms to HHH in 2021, it sparked a meaningful connection -one that led straight to DHL.

Thanks to DHL's extraordinary donation of four pallets of computer equipment, HHH realized their vision: a fully-equipped computer lab with 2 rooms, 25 computers each, at College de la Grace in Pignon, Haiti.

HHH CEO and Founder Serena Bufalino travelled to Haiti in September 2023 to personally oversee the lab's setup. On September 15, 2023, HHH proudly opened the doors to this digital hub, marking a significant step in bridging the digital divide for the eager young minds of Pignon.

The school is secure and protected by surrounding high walls, four security guards at the front gate 24 hours a day, and video cameras. Although there is electricity, there’s a chance that the  Haitian government could cut it off anytime, so this school is also equipped with back-up generators.

What This Unlocks

Our mission with this computer lab is to introduce the children to a broader world other than the confines of their country. By engaging their curiosity, we empower them to explore information in a safe environment.
