What We Do
Youth Leadership. Community Action. Real Impact.
The Help Heal Humanity After-School Club is a youth-led, community-driven program based in Hamilton, Ontario. Designed for high school students, the club creates a safe, supportive space where young people can grow as leaders while actively giving back to their community.
Grounded in our core pillars of Education • Health • Healing, students are not just participants, they are changemakers.
Supported by a generous $15,000 grant from City Councillor Tammy Hwang, this program is designed to equip students with the confidence and skills to lead both within their schools and far beyond.
Youth Leadership in Action
Through the HHH After-School Club, youth actively lead and participate in real community initiatives, including:
Cooking and distributing meals to individuals experiencing food insecurity
Organizing clothing drives and care packages for vulnerable community members
Supporting school-based nutrition programs that ensure students have access to food
Participating in community-based health and wellness research in partnership with McMaster University
Leading community clean-ups and local outreach projects
Collaborating with local businesses and organizations to create sustainable solutions
Our Focus Areas
Education & Youth Leadership
Students develop the confidence, skills, and experience to lead within their school and beyond. Through hands-on learning, teamwork, mentorship, and community engagement, youth build leadership capacity, earn volunteer hours, and gain real-world experience that prepares them for the future.
Food Security & Nourishment
Food is one of the most immediate needs facing many youth and families in our community. Students take part in preparing and distributing meals, supporting school-based nutrition programs, and helping address food insecurity through practical, community-driven action. This work teaches compassion, responsibility, and the importance of ensuring everyone has access to nourishing food.Healing Through Action
Healing happens when young people feel connected, supported, and empowered to make a difference. Through clothing drives, care packages, community clean-ups, outreach efforts, and acts of service, students learn that healing is not only personal, it is something we create together through care, consistency, and community. Why It Matters
Many of the youth we serve live in communities facing higher levels of poverty, food insecurity, and limited access to resources. City-wide data show that about one in four Hamilton households is now experiencing food insecurity, a sharp increase in recent years. Studies of local food-bank use also find that families turning to food banks are “the poorest of the poor,” often with children at home. Ward 4 is one of the areas most affected by these trends.
The After-School Club provides a consistent, structured environment where students feel seen, supported, and empowered. It is a safe space where young people discover who they are, what they’re capable of, and how they can make a difference.
By investing in youth, we are strengthening our communities - one student, one act of service, one moment of connection at a time.
Together, we are raising the next generation of compassionate leaders.
